Kingsley is the instructor for the Phoenix Karate School. He started his martial arts training in Shotokan karate the early 70s with Sensei Jim Wilson, and has studied various forms of Japanese, Chinese, and Western Martial Arts for over four decades under foremost Martial Arts Masters, the likes of Prof Wally Jay, Don Warrener, Don Jacobs (Purple Dragon) E.S Koh (Tai Chi), Kienosuke Enoeda, llija Jorga, and many other instructors.
He started his Goju-Ryu training with Shihan Leo Lipinski in the late 80's, and was a founder members of the Great Britain Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Seiwakai group which was headed by Shihan Lipinski (RIP). A member of the first British Goju-Ryu Karate team to enter the Japanese Karate Federation Goju-Ryu Championships in Takamatsu, Japan.
Gold medal Kata winner, and Silver medalist in Kumite of the Pan American Karate Championships held in Trinidad. Whilst in Trinidad, he lived and trained with Master Don Jacobs (Purple Dragon) learning the art of Don Jitsu Ryu. He was awarded the grade of ‘Tashi’ by the World Kobudo Federation for his Skill, Knowledge, and Proficiency. He holds the rank of Shihan 6th Dan in Goju-Ryu Karate, and 4th Dan in Shotokan Karate. A qualified Sports and Remedial Therapist, and Personal Trainer.
